Toll fees set for I-70 express lane
State highway officials have set toll rates for the new express lane on eastbound Interstate 70 that could have drivers paying as much as $40.
The Denver Post reports the rates on the 13-mile toll lane will adjust based on how backed up the roadways are. The rates were approved Wednesday by the state’s High Performance Transportation Enterprise.
Officials say drivers could cut down on costs by having an ExpressToll pass, which charges I-70 drivers a range of $3 to $30. Drivers without a toll pass could face rates as high as $40 because of processing fees.
The toll lane will open by the end of the year.
Drivers can also expect to see special events toll rates for the U.S. 36 Express Lanes project, which opens next year.
