Man found dead in lobby of Colorado Springs building
Colorado Springs police are investigating a death after a man was found dead in the lobby of the Alamo building downtown.
The man was found around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of S. Tejon St.
Bob Carlisle owns the building. He says the man somehow managed to fall through the open space of a staircase.
Carlisle says the man, who was in his 50s, was seen drinking at Mackenzie’s Chop House when he was invited to the third floor of the building by friends. Carlisle says the man left 30 minutes later, and that’s when the deadly fall apparently happened.
Carlisle says the man would have had to climb through the staircase in order to fall.
Police are investigating the death as accidental.
