Pueblo city councilman seeks to ban plastic bags
Pueblo City Councilman John Cordova wants to ban plastic bags in the city.
Cordova told City Council Tuesday night that there are too many plastic bags floating around in the city, tarnishing its image. Cordova said it’s time for people to switch over to cloth or paper bags.
“We’re having an issue with the appearance of our city and I think this is one of the things that affects not only the appearance of our city, but a lot of cities that have the same problem,” Cordova said.
He said it’s an opportunity for the city to become a more forward-thinking community.
Council President Steve Nawrocki asked the city manager to research a possible ordinance that would put an end to plastic bags.
