Life Saving Van Rolls Into Colorado Springs

A life saving van is rolling through Colorado Springs. It’s called the “Pink Life Saver”, a 38-foot, pink motor coach, which includes a mammography unit, waiting area and changing room for privacy. It is the only mobile mammography coach, provided by UC Health that offers 3-D screenings and it only takes just 15-20 minutes.

Organizers say they hope it helps women fit a screening into their busy schedule. Dana Knapp, “the two main reasons women do not get annual screening mammography are time and convenience so our mobile coach breaks down those barriers, we bring the screening mammogram to them.”

The “Pink Life Saver” will be in Southern Colorado a few more times. The next stop will be on Thursday at Care Core International on Kelly Johnson Boulevard. For more information on the stops and the mobile unit. Go to www.pinklifesaver.comfor a schedule.
