Competing 2C ads released

the completed version. several 24- hour drop boxes opened today around el paso county. we have a list of those locations on our website at krdo-dot-com. one of the hottest issues on the local ballot is the tax hike to raise money to fix potholes in colorado springs. a citizens group … along with city councilwoman helen collins.. released competing ads on the issue today. “spring citizens for a brighter future” supports the tax hike … and points out… the point-62 perc?? percent sales tax increase expires after five years. collins’ radio spot calls the plan a “bait-and- switch”.. arguing the money is really meant for general improvements to downtown. issue 2c is a $250 million tax hike. it is not for roads. it is for the downtown arena, to be built without voter approval. if i don’t trust city hall, why should you? collins said she paid for that ad herself. it also questions the use of taxpayer money over the past 10-years. but the pro-2-c ad… says collins is wrong. the new tax does not apply to purchases of gas, groceries, pharmaceuti cals or other essentials. it funds massive road, bridge and pothole repairs. not one penny of new debt. each and every penny goes to fix the roads. mayor
