Springs police say man shot friend while cleaning gun

A man is recovering after being shot by a friend who was cleaning a gun, according to Colorado Springs police.

Police say it happened just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of Gunnison Street.

The 20-year-old victim went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a friend of the victim was cleaning a gun when it accidentally discharged. That friend left the scene before officers arrived.
