Noodles & Co. to discontinue use of antibiotics

The Colorado-based food company Noodles & Co. plans to discontinue its use of antibiotics as part of a new campaign focused on fresh food.

The Daily Camera reports (http://bit.ly/1Zj7uN5) the company said in a statement that it would also be pulling artificial ingredients from its menu, including flavors, preservatives, sweeteners and colors.

The fast-casual food company based out of Broomfield is looking to start using meat and poultry that is free of hormones and antibiotics by 2017.

Noodles & Co. already uses naturally raised pork and plans to introduce antibiotic- and hormone-free bacon this month, followed by steak and meatballs by the end of 2016.

The company was founded in 1995.
