Memorial for fallen Springs officer vandalized

Colorado Springs Police say someone vandalized a memorial that was set up in honor of a police officer who died in the line of duty.

Officer Matt Tyner died in a motorcycle crash while on duty on July 24, 2012. The crash happened on Austin Bluffs Parkway between Oro Blanco Drive and Old Farm Drive.

Someone used a black marker to write “Piece of S**t” on the memorial.

Tyner worked for the Kansas City Police Department before joining CSPD in 1999.
