Jail christens new kitchen

A new kitchen is serving up meals to inmates at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

The old kitchen was badly damaged by a roof collapse during heavy rain storms earlier this summer.

For months, food was prepared in mobile kitchens at a cost of $65,000 per month.

A ribbon cutting for the new kitchen was held Thursday (10/8/15).

The new kitchen will feed around 1,700 people every day.
