Man rescued after falling into Colorado Springs creek

Colorado Springs firefighters rescued a man who fell into Monument Creek near downtown Tuesday night.

Firefighters said it happened around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday near West Bijou Street and North Sierra Madre Street.

The man is about 30-year-old, crews said.

Two bikers along the Pikes Peak Greenway saw a man floating in the creek and called 911, firefighters said.

When crews arrived, the man was conscious, but not responsive, crews said.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital and treated for hypothermia.
