Arrest made, second person sought after pressure bombs found at Garden of the Gods

The Colorado Springs Police Department says a man has been arrested and a woman faces citation after two pressure bombs were found at Garden of the Gods Park over the weekend.

The devices were found at around 9:30 Saturday morning at the park, which is off of N. 30th Street on the west side of the city.

Police say Zachary Sirko, 22, has been arrested. He faces a charge for having an incendiary or explosive device. They say there is an outstanding criminal ticket for Ashley Snyder, 21, in connection to the case as well.

The devices are soda bottles, usually filled with a liquid and chemicals that when sealed, will detonate.

The devices found at Garden of the Gods did not explode and authorities were able to deactivate them.

No one was hurt.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department and the Colorado Springs Police Department were originally called to the area for a chemical spill.

Police say there is no further threat to the community.
