Six people treated after two alarm apartment fire

The Colorado Springs Fire Department fought a two alarm fire in southeast Colorado Springs Wednesday.

The fire started in a unit at the El Vecino apartments in the 1800 block of Monterey Road.

The fire department says six people were treated for various injuries. Some of those people suffered smoke inhalation. One person had to be rescued.

The fire was reported at 2:40 p.m. 40 firefighters responded to the call. Several units were damaged by smoke and water.
