Second stolen EPC rescue vehicle recovered
A second stolen El Paso County search and rescue vehicle has been recovered.
The team announced on social media Thursday morning that both vehicles are now back with the team thanks to the sheriff’s office and Colorado Springs Police Department.
The post also said the team is now assessing the damage to the vehicles and reviewing security measures at the rescue team base.
The team discovered the two vehicles were missing from the office on Interpark Drive, near I-25 and Garden of the Gods, on the morning of Sept. 8.
The first vehicle, worth $6,000 was quickly recovered. It took another couple weeks for officials to track down the second vehicle worth about $18,000.
