Former CSU-Pueblo basketball player shot and killed

Colorado State University-Pueblo Wendell Lee was shot and killed in his hometown of Los Angeles late last night. A men’s basketball standout Lee was 23. CSU-Pueblo basketball coach Ralph Turner had this to say about the passing of Lee to the school’s website.

“It’s always sad when you lose someone, no matter how old they are, but to think that Dell died with so much music left in him, is a sad thought to consider,” said CSU-Pueblo Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ralph Turner.

“There is so much of his life to remember, like his infectious smile and laugh, but mostly the drive, passion and pursuit of his dreams. That is what will inspire us to do the same,” Turner added.

“He was loved by his teammates, classmates, fans, boosters and the Pueblo community because of the man he was. It leaves a hole that is hard to fill.”
