Pueblo murder suspect arrested

UPDATE: Pueblo police have arrested 21-year-old Timothy Leroy Tafoya.

Detectives say Tafoya is suspected of shooting and killing 31-year-old Ricky Muniz. Police say the official arrest charges have not been released.

Pueblo police received an anonymous tip Saturday night regarding the suspect’s whereabouts. Police located Tafoya and surrounded a residence.

Tafoya surrendered peacefully after a brief 30 minute standoff. He is now in the Pueblo County Jail.

Pueblo police have named the shooting suspect in the murder of 31-year-old Ricky Muniz. Detectives have identified the shooting suspect as 21-year-old Timothy Leroy Tafoya.

Police say Muniz was shot and killed on Sept. 14th, after he confronted someone who was tagging graffiti behind his home in the alley.

Tafoya is 5’8″, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He is wanted for first-degree murder and the courts have signed a no bond warrant for his arrest.
