Honoring fallen firefighters

the streets in pueblo to bring awareness to this type of violence. we’ll show you what they did later in the newscast. firefighters nationwide are in colorado springs – honoring theiir fallen comrades. today those heroes were honored at the 29th annual i-a- f-f fallen firefighter memorial. krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano shows us the emotional ceremony. it’s a ride in memory of heroes. brotherhood, sisterhood, to honor our fallen firefighters. a procession that sends a loud message. it’s just a showing of solidarity and it’s kind of a spectacular thing: all the noise from the bikes and the fire trucks and everybody rolling in. it just adds to the ceremony. they’re riding to a memorial service for fallen firefighters from the united states and canada. families are tracing over the names of their loved ones. our brother died six and a half years ago. he was a firefighter in decatur, illinois. we’re here today because he is one of the firefighters they are honoring. the names of more than 7-thousand first responders are etched into this international memorial. when disaster strikes, firefighters are always ready to respond. today, those who died on the job are being remembered for their bravery. it’s a way to honor their glory and i think it’s a real tribute to how the firefighters are a real brotherhood. a family of firefighters from across north america … standing together and grieving together in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. the names of 310 firefighters were added to the memorial landmark this year. the redesigned memorial
