Pueblo County Coroner names victim in overnight shooting

The Pueblo County Coroner says the victim in Monday night’s deadly shooting is 32-year-old Ricky Muniz.

His cause of death is not available.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Routt Avenue in the city’s south side.

When officers arrived, they found Muniz dead in an alley.

Sergeant Ken Espinoza says Muniz heard someone using spray paint on his house and went outside to check it out. A confrontation happened and shots were fired.

Espinoza says it could possibly be gang-related.
