Two men recovering after being hit by a car near a bar

A suspect is in police custody after police said he purposely hit two people with his car near a bar in Colorado Springs.

It happened around 2:15 Sunday morning near Holy Cow Pub & Grill. This is near Stetson Hills and Powers Boulevard. Police say the pedestrians suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the driver, Matthew Rose, left the vehicle near the scene.

He tried to hide it in a field with bushes and tumbleweeds, but witnesses helped police track it down.

The crash is being investigated as vehicular assault.
