Woman found dead following Black Forest search identified

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a woman whose body was found found in the 12000 block of Milam Road in Black Forest Wednesday afternoon.

She was Donna Grimstead, 71.

Grimstead’s body was found during a search after she was reported missing.

The sheriff’s office says Grimstead died from an apparent gunshot wound. It says her car was in the parking lot and her body was found sitting up against a tree about a quarter mile up the trail.

Investigators say the shooting does not appear suspicious and that they are not looking for anyone.

Toxicology results are pending.
