Mitchell High School hosts Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony

place this afternoon. state lawmakers passed a bill this year to rename the tunnels. mitchell high school students are remembering those who died in the september eleventh attacks… including a mitchell graduate. junior r-o-t-c cadets hosted their annual nine-eleven memorial ceremony today… paying tribute to victims and their families. krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano was there for the emotional ceremony as communities gather to remember the attacks on 9- eleven. mitchell high school students honor one of their own. while we didn’t know mrs. laborie, she was a mitchell graduate. she was a marauder. kathryn yancey laborie was the lead flight attendant on united flight 175 the plane that struck the south tower of the world trade center. i always thought she would always be here and they took her away from us. every year the yancey family lays a wreath in kathryn’s honor. very emotional for us. we miss our sister and my mom misses her daughter. not every student at mitchell is old enough to rember the events of 9/11, but students do understand the importance of paying tribute to the lives that were lost that day. it still affects the things we do today and the things that are going to happen in the future. not to mention that everyone who lost their life deserves to be rembered. they were all heroes. students honored the heroes with fourteen doves. marking fourteen years since the attack that changed the world. in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. kathryn yancy laborie graduated from kathryn yancy
