Woodland Park PD adds new patrol vehicles

The Woodland Park Police Department has three new vehicles.

As of August, the department has phased them in with their current impalas.

Patrol Officer Hope Couch tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that the Impalas are taken of service at around 100,000 miles.

Couch also says, with the amount of time they spend patrolling in those vehicles throughout the day, the upgrades were necessary.

“(When you’re) doing reports, traffic, just responding to tall the calls in it so it makes for a more productive department altogether,” said Officer Couch.

It will take years before the older vehicles are completely cycled out.
