Police: Springs man faces charges following 9th DUI arrest (updated)

The Colorado Springs Police Department says a man was picked up on his 9th DUI arrest Monday night (9/7/15).

William Nance, 54, was arrested at around 10 p.m. following a crash in the 1500 block of S. Nevada Ave., which is south of downtown.

According to court papers, Nance faces charges for DUI, driving with excessive alcohol content, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and driving without a license or insurance.

The court papers say Nance had blood shot, watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet at the time of his arrest. The papers also say there was a case of beer in Nance’s car, including two open, partially empty cans.

Nance refused standard field sobriety tests, according to documents.

Two of Nance’s prior convictions for DUI happened in Colorado. The other six happened in Texas.

Nance was advised of the new charges he faces on Wednesday.
