New location for Aquatic Center named in Woodland Park

The city of Woodland Park is looking at a new location for its Aquatic Center.

The mayor tells us they may build it on school district property near the high school in a field near student parking.

That’s instead of the previous site at Woodland Station.

The city spent $77,000 on engineering, then learned it would cost several million dollars to build the center south of US-24.

“It’s a great piece of property. we think that we can work a great deal with the high school to be able to use or purchase the land. it’s got a beautiful view from there,” said Mayor Neil Levey.

“Woodland Park School District has always been really supportive of providing land for this project. We continue to be excited about this possibility,” said Stacy Schubloom, Communications Specialist for Woodland Park School District 2.
