More closures planned as Fillmore interchange project continues

Drivers in the area of I-25 and Fillmore St. can expect periodic lane closures and delays to continue through September as a project to rebuild the interchange continues.

The work currently underway includes demolition of an existing bridge.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says all of the below closures will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the following dates:

Thursday, Sept. 10, toFriday, Sept. 11/Sunday, Sept. 13, toMonday, Sept. 14/Monday, Sept. 14, toTuesday, Sept. 15

I-25 will be closed atFillmoreStreet andFillmoreStreet will be closed over I-25, between the northbound and southbound ramps.

Tuesday, Sept. 15, toWednesday, Sept. 16/Wednesday, Sept. 16, toThursday, Sept. 17

Intermittentdoublelane closures on northbound and/or southbound I-25.

DETOURS WHEN I-25 AND/ORFILLMORESTREET ARE CLOSED

FROM EASTBOUNDFILLMORETO NORTHBOUND I-25 ORFILLMOREEAST OF I-25:South on I-25 fromFillmoreto Fontanero Street, turn around and re-enter northbound I-25, where drivers can access eastboundFillmoreor continue north on I-25.

FROM WESTBOUNDFILLMORETO SOUTHBOUND I-25 ORFILLMOREWEST OF I-25:North on I-25 to Garden of the Gods Road, turn around and re-enter southbound I-25, where drivers can access westboundFillmoreor continue south on I-25.

The interchange is expected to be completed next summer.
