Police need your help finding a restaurant burglar

A thief is on the loose after breaking into a restaurant in Pueblo, but he was caught on camera.

The burglary happened at Captain D’s near Highway 50 and I-25 early Sunday.

Police said the burglar got inside the restaurant by using a crow bar to pry open the drive-thru window. Restaurant owner Lester Nowell said the thief stole food, computers and surveillance cameras. He also said the thief left open, broke or unplugged appliances in the restaurant, which caused food to spoil.

Nowell said he is going to make his restaurant more secure.

“We’ve had two (burglaries) here in the probably the last two and a half months. The same thing was done and we’re going to be pushed to put in additional safeguards,” he said.

Pueblo police have not named any suspects in this crime. If you have any information that will help in this case, you’re asked to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.
