Labor Day art festival returns to traditional location in Manitou Springs

A popular holiday weekend event was back in its usual place after a two-year absence.

Organizers held the 41st annual Manitou Springs Art Festival in Memorial Park. The event was last held there in 2012 before flooding forced it to other locations.

About 100 artists, some from as far away as Florida, showed off their work, said Julia Wright, the festival coordinator.

“I’m glad the festival is back here,” she said. “I think the people are, too. The aisles are full and people are constantly walking through. There are no gates so there’s no way to count how many people came. But I’m happy.”

The festival also featured live music, food and family activities.
