Woman accused of hitting man in the head with a hammer

Colorado Springs Police say a woman will face charges for hitting a man with a hammer at a south downtown motel.

Police were called to the 4U Motel in the 1100 block of S. Nevada Ave. at 10:29 p.m. on August 30, 2015.

Investigators say the man was taken to the hospital with head injuries. He is expected to survive.

Police say Monica Cain, 45, was arrested.

Cain faces a charge for domestic violence-related first degree assault.
