Weekend lane closures planned as part of I-25 & Fillmore reconstruction project

The Interstate 25/Fillmore Interchange will be partially closed to traffic this weekend for intersection reconstruction.

Closures are as follows:

Friday, Aug. 28, 8 p.m. toMonday, Aug. 31, 5 a.m. – the ramps from northbound I-25 to Fillmore Street and from Fillmore Street to northbound I-25 will be closed. In addition, Fillmore Street will be closed between Mark Dabling Boulevard and the southbound I-25 ramps. All eastbound Fillmore traffic west of I-25 will need exit to southbound I-25. Southbound I-25 traffic can exit at Fillmore but must go west on Fillmore.

DETOURS *
From northbound I-25:For points west of I-25, exit I-25 at Uintah, west on Uintah to Chestnut, north on Chestnut to Fillmore OR exit I-25 at Garden of the Gods Road, west on Garden of the Gods to Centennial Boulevard, south on Centennial to Fillmore.

From westbound Fillmore, east of I-25:Drivers who want to access northbound I-25 should go north on Nevada Avenue to Garden of the Gods Road, west on Garden of the Gods to I-25ORcontinue north on Nevada to its junction with I-25 at Rockrimmon Boulevard. Drivers wanting to access southbound I-25 areSTRONGLY ENCOURAGED to travel south on Nevada Avenue and access southbound I-25 at Uintah Street, Bijou Street or at the Nevada/Tejon Interchange. CDOT is recommending that southbound travelers avoid the Garden of the Gods Interchange due to the high amount of traffic at that location.PLEASE NOTE:Mark Dabling Boulevard will be closed for a local event onSaturdayand cannot be used as a detour route.

The intersection work is part of a Colorado Department of Transportation interchange reconstruction project. Completion is scheduled for summer 2016.
