Wanted sex offender caught in Colorado Springs
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says they found a man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child in 2014 who was hiding in Colorado Springs early Wednesday morning.
Phillip Patrick Garnier, 24, was No. 18 on the Colorado Bureau of Investigations Top 100 Wanted Sex Offenders list. The sheriff’s office was looking for Garnier for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to comply with probation.
The sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip that he was at the Howard Johnson Express Inn on South Nevada Avenue.When deputies arrived, Garnier refused to leave the hotel.
Deputies requested K-9 assistance from the Colorado Springs Police Department. He was then arrested.
