Report: Denver Planned Parenthood office will not be investigated
Colorado authorities will not investigate Planned Parenthood’s Denver branch over allegations the organization illegally profited from the sale of fetal tissue used for medical research.
Colorado Republican Attorney General Cynthia Coffman told KUSA-TV (http://goo.gl/GHCbXY ) that state law requires such an investigation be done by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The department told the television station it has no plans investigate.
Health department spokesman Mark Salley says the state agency has no plans to investigate because “of the ongoing congressional investigation” into the matter.
The Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group, released secretly recorded videos last month they say show Planned Parenthood employees at offices around the country discussing prices of aborted fetal remains.
Planned Parenthood denies wrongdoing and says the videos are misleading and deceptively edited.
