911 outage affecting Simla area

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said 911 service was down in the Simla area Friday afternoon.

Simla is located in Elbert County, but it is close to the northeastern corner of El Paso County. It’s possible that people who live near Simla in both Elbert and El Paso counties may be affected.

The sheriff’s office says it was notified by CenturyLink that a fiber was accidentally cut.

If you live within El Paso County in the affected area, you are asked to call 719-390-5555 if you have an emergency.

The sheriff’s office says CenturyLink estimates the repairs will be completed by 7 p.m.
