Officials: Man ran onto Denver airport, tried to stop plane

Authorities say a man was arrested after running onto a ramp at Denver International Airport and trying to stop a departing United Airlines plane.

The incident occurred Aug. 6 but wasn’t disclosed until Wednesday.

Authorities haven’t said why the man tried to stop the plane. Airport spokesman Heath Montgomery says the flight wasn’t significantly delayed.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office filed charges of endangering public transportation and hindering public transportation against 58-year-old Marc Rehmar. He didn’t immediately respond to a message left on his home phone.

The DA’s office says Rehmar opened a secure emergency exit on a concourse and ran onto the ramp area where a plane was being pushed back from the gate. The door set off an alarm, and police and airport employees responded.
