Escaped cows wrangled by officers in Colorado Springs neighborhood

Colorado Springs Police Officers had to use their cowboy skills to roundup a group of cows that got loose in a north side neighborhood.

A woman called police at 6:13 a.m. Wednesday to report that there were several cows on her front lawn eating her plants.

This happened in a neighborhood in the 2100 block of Silver Creek Dr., which is near highway 83 and N. Powers Blvd.

Police say seven cows escaped from a nearby pasture and were roaming the neighborhood and grazing.

Officers shooed the cows to the dead end of the street and opened the fence so the cows could return to their field.

Police say no cows or officers were injured during the cattle drive. They say Classic Homes owns the field and is responsible for securing the fence.
