Landslide threatening Colorado Springs home

The constant rain in southern Colorado in the last several months is taking a toll on some homes.

The land surrounding a house on the southwest side of the city is slowly collapsing. Part of the front yard slid off about seven feet, leaving the concrete on the front porch crumbling. The homeowner even set up a ladder to get to the new lower level of the home.

Tim Mitros, stormwater manager for the city of Colorado Springs said he is meeting with representatives from the Colorado Geologic Survey to assess the situation and figure out where the limits are.
