El Paso County teen captured in Denver

An El Paso County teen who escaped from a youth corrections officer in Denver earlier this week has been caught.

Alyxander Yawn was with an officer at Presbyterian St. Luke Hospital in Denver.

Doctors asked to remove his restraints, but when Yawn went to use the restroom, he escaped out a side door.

He was wanted on misdemeanor charges and was arrested earlier today in Denver.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has not released details concerning his arrest, but a spokeswoman said he turned himself in without incident.
