Traffic to be impacted by bridgework over Monument Creek

Maintenance on the deck of the Garden of the Gods Bridge will cause significant traffic impacts beginning Friday night through early Monday morning.

It’s scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in the eastbound and westbound lanes of Garden of the Gods Road.

The area will be closed with traffic detoured onto Nevada and Mark Dabling. Regular traffic flow should be restored by 5 a.m. on Monday, August 10. Businesses in the area will remain open and can be accessed from the east or west of the bridge.

The maintenance work will include removing the existing asphalt on the concrete deck, waterproofing the concrete bridge deck and installing a new asphalt surface.

Drivers should expect some delays to complete this work and use alternate routes when possible.

The project is funded by Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority funds.
