Search for Tennessee man missing in southern Colorado suspended

The Conejos County Sheriff’s Office says the search for a Tennessee man who went missing last month has been suspended.

Joseph Keller, 19, of Cleveland, Tennessee was last seen at around 4:30 p.m. on July 23 after going for a run in the mountains west of Antonito.

“We have exhausted the search resources available to us for the time being and have uncovered no information that would lead us to believe that continuing to search right now is the best use of resources,” said Sheriff Howard Galvez. “If we can uncover new information that warrants resuming the search, we will do so,” he said.

The sheriff’s office says there have been several possible sightings of Keller, but that so far, none of them have panned out.

The search for Keller has covered an approximately 30 mile radius from where he was last seen, and has included aircraft, 15 search dogs, and approximately 200 people who have searched on foot, horseback and on ATV’s.
