Arraignment delayed for man charged in teen’s disappearance

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) — The arraignment for a man charged in the disappearance of a Pueblo teenager has been postponed.

The Canon City Daily Record reports (http://goo.gl/VraUAT ) 24-year-old Christopher Waide is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 3.

Waide is suspected in the disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter, who was last seen in June 2014 while visiting Westminster, where Waide lived.

Investigators have said Waide and Porter attended the same high school in Fremont County and had reconnected on Facebook before she went missing.

Waide is charged with first-degree murder and several sexual assault charges in connection with her disappearance.
