Water main break impacts traffic in northern Colorado Springs
The Colorado Springs Traffic Management Center says there is a water main break in the area of Montebello Dr. and Tomah Dr. which has caused a sinkhole.
The intersection is located on the north side of town near N. Academy Blvd. and Montebello Dr.
The traffic management center said there was a water hazard in the right lane of northbound N. Academy Blvd. at Montebello because of this, but that the hazard has been mitigated.
Colorado Springs Utilities says it has dispatched crews to assess and repair the break. It says it doesn’t know how many customers are affected.
Drivers should avoid the area.
