UPDATE: Escaped Trinidad inmate caught in Kansas
An inmate who escaped from the Trinidad Correction Facility was caught in Kansas Thursday.
The DOC said Douglas Beagley was caught around 7:15 p.m. Thursday in Johnson, Kansas.
The DOC says Beagley escaped around 3:20p.m. He was assigned to an outside work crew and was driving a white Ford, single axle, dually dump truck with Colorado Department of Corrections emblems on both sides.
Beagley is serving an 18 year sentence for burglary and vandalism in Mesa County. He was last seen wearing a green prison uniform with a green reflective safety vest and either black or tan boots.
The Trinidad Correctional Facility is located off of Highway 350 about 15 miles northeast of Trinidad. It houses lower risk offenders and can hold as many as 500 inmates.
