Broncos DT Wolfe suspended four games

Defensive tackle Derek Wolfe tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of 2015 season and is eligible to return to the Denver Broncos’ roster on October 5.

Wolfe said he took a medication in the off season that did not boost performance in any way and claimed he was unaware it was on the NFL’s banned substances list.

“I was genuinely unaware it was prohibited,” Wolfe said in a team-issued statement. “But players are responsible for what is in their bodies. I will certainly exercise far greater caution in the future and will seek advice relating to the permissibility of any and all medications.”

Wolfe can participate in all workouts until the start of the regular season and is eligible for all preseason games.
