Army chief of staff to promote new Fort Carson general

The Army’s top general will promote a Fort Carson commander to the rank of one-star general.

Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno will preside over the promotion of Timothy J. Daugherty from colonel to brigadier general at Fort Carson on Thursday.

Daugherty is deputy commander of the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson’s largest unit.

Daugherty became deputy commander of the division on May 11. Previously, he was assigned to the Pentagon.
