National youth rodeo competition making one last stand in Pueblo

The National Little Britches Rodeo Finals is setting up for the final time in Pueblo.

The event is expected to draw in nearly 5,000 people for the week and generate more than $3 million for Pueblo County.

Event organizers decided to move the event to Guthrie, Oklahoma starting next year. They said it is home of the world’s biggest indoor rodeo arena.

Arkansas resident Kenny Hill is at the event to watch his two grandsons compete. He said he will miss Pueblo, but he is looking forward to the new location.

“I think it will be good, people expect there to be a little more room and not quite as crowded. It’s pretty tight here,” Hill said.

The event is set to start Monday and run through Saturday.
