Realtors could have hard time selling homes with declining test scores

Realtors could have a hard time selling properties if student test scores don’t improve in Pueblo County.

The results from the Colorado Measures of Academic Success tests showed that Pueblo City Schools scored below the state average for fourth and seventh grade social studies along with fifth and eighth grade science.

Real estate agent Kendall Curtis said this is a problem when realtors are trying to sell properties. He said schools are a popular topic when people consider buying a properties.

Curtis said he and other real estate agents are trying to solve this problem.

“We’re working with District 60 to help the kids improve the scores for the district by having a mentorship program where realtors will go in and work with these kids in District 60,” he said.

District 70 scored below the state average for all categories except fifth grade science.
