Grandmother pleads guilty to leaving girl at fireworks show
A grandmother accused of leaving her granddaughter alone at Denver’s Independence Day fireworks show has pleaded guilty to a municipal charge in the case.
The Denver Post reports 55-year-old Brenda Littlespottedhorse pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of wrongs to minors. She was arrested in Lakewood on July 9 on a probation violation warrant out of South Dakota and is being held at Denver’s downtown jail.
Denver investigators say no one contacted them searching for Littlespottedhorse’s granddaughter after she was found missing at the end of the fireworks show July 3.
It took 24 hours for police to find her family.
Police say Littlespottedhorse was supposed to be watching the girl, who was described as between 2 and 3 years old.
