Crews work on road to help avoid future flood problems
El Paso County crews worked on a solution to avoid future flood problems along a road in the eastern part of the county.
Pinto Pony Road was temporarily closed last week, because large portions of it washed away in the rain. Runoff also ended up on residents’ properties.
On Tuesday, county crews worked on a more permanent solution. They pulled out a pipe culvert that was full of silt and are working to put up cul-de-sacs.
“They’re doing more this time than they’ve done in the past,” homeowner Gary Wright said.
Wright said the problem has been going on for 16 years. He hopes this latest solution helps.
“I don’t know how many times we can do what we’ve done,” he said.
