Landslide closes road, trailhead in Huerfano County

The US Forest Service says a road and a trailhead in far western Huerfano County are closed because of a landslide.

Access to the Upper Huerfano area, including the Lily Lake Trailhead, has been closed because the slide is blocking County Road 580.

CR 580 will remain closed between the State Wildlife area and Lily Lake Trailhead until further notice.

This area is located west of Trinidad and northeast of Alamosa in the shadow of Blanca Peak.

The forest service says trespassing on private land to get around the slide is illegal.
