Man accused of beating woman after she refuses to be his girlfriend

A victim of an alleged assault in Colorado Springs says the suspect beat her because she refused to be his girlfriend.

Police were called to a disturbance at an apartment, in the 1000 block of Rice Drive, early Monday morning (7/13/15). A woman who was covered in blood answered the door, and a man in the apartment was immediately detained.

Police say the man had beaten the woman using his fists and a beer bottle. They say the woman was able to get out of the apartment at one point, but the suspect dragged her back inside and continued beating her.

The woman suffered severe facial injuries, but is expected to recover.

The suspect, 47-year-old Lex Pile, was arrested on charges of 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Kidnapping.
