Flash flooding hits El Paso County Thursday

All warnings and advisories for El Paso County have been allowed to expire.

Flash flooding was widespread across the Pikes Peak Region Thursday night and Falcon was hit especially hard.

Widespread street flooding has been reported in northern Colorado Springs, Falcon and near Fort Carson. Flooding has also been reported in Caon City.

The most serious flooding appeared to be in Falcon where firefighters asked drivers to stay off the roads and viewers shared pictures of entire streets under several inches of water.

“Driving in this rain pretty much sucks,” said Paul Docauer. “Traffic is slow, cars are hydroplanning, puddles everywhere. We came out here for the nice weather and it’s just miserable.”

In Colorado Springs, Siferd Blvd. and Star Ranch Road were closed because of flooding. Star Ranch has since reopened.
