Boy, 7, shot while playing with friends in Aurora home

A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the head as he played with friends in an Aurora home.

The boy was shot Thursday afternoon when six children ages 7 to 12 were alone in the home. Aurora Police spokeswoman Judy Lutkin says investigators don’t know how the children got a gun or who fired it.

Lutkin says that an adult neighbor called 911. She says it’s too soon to say whether any criminal charges would be filed in the case.

The wounded boy did not live in the home. He is in serious condition at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
